Dr. Erika Young will be teaching The Natural History of Costa Rica (BIO 3025/5025). This course can be taken by anyone in any major and has no prerequisites! Spend roughly 2 weeks exploring Costa Rica’s diverse ecosystems and landscape, including:
- the cloud forest to view the elusive quetzal
- excursions to the coast and to the Tarcoles River
- coffee plantations and organic farms
- Arenal Volcano National Park and Hot Springs
Along with the extensive travel itinerary, you will be learning about the cultures of the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica. The course is 3 credit hours, and undergraduate or graduate credit is available.
