Inaugural cohort of 2024-2025 Exceptional BRAVES Leader program

UNC Pembroke has announced that 19 faculty and staff members have been selected for the inaugural Exceptional BRAVES Leader program cohort.

The program is designed to develop and foster university leaders and enhance their leadership skills while preparing participants for positions of higher responsibility as they progress in their careers.

Exceptional BRAVES Leader is the first in a series of professional development certificate programs established by the Office of Human Resources.

“We are excited to welcome our first-ever cohort of BRAVES leaders,” said Angela Revels, assistant vice chancellor for Human Resources and program co-facilitator. “The program resulted from the UNC System Employee Engagement survey in which faculty and staff expressed a desire for the university to invest in their professional development.”

The 10-month program will provide participants with training, resources, knowledge and management tools to increase leadership efficiency and proficiency in tasks related to employee management. Session topics will include best practices for leadership, leading in challenging times, risk management and shared governance.
