D’Amrah Rowdy, a nursing student and member of the Maynor Honors College at UNC Pembroke, was recently crowned USA National Miss North Carolina.

Rowdy will represent North Carolina in the USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant July 3-9 in Hollywood, Florida.

A native of Rowland, N.C., Rowdy is a sophomore and a certified nursing assistant. She has held two local titles under the Miss America Organization (MAO) Scholarship System, including Miss Greater Carolina’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Central Carolina.  

The USA National Miss Scholarship Pageant is a prestigious scholarship pageant system. It avails its delegates opportunities for growth in public speaking, leadership skills, personal and professional development and opportunities for employment and advancement in their careers.
