UNC Health Southeastern presents Dr. Cherry Beasley with Lifetime Commitment Award

Dr. Cherry Maynor Beasley

Dr. Cherry Maynor Beasley, a veteran nursing professor at UNC Pembroke, was recently presented with the Lifetime Commitment Award by UNC Health Southeastern.

Beasley was among the recipients of the 2020-2021 UNC Health Southeastern Regional Community Health Awards. Organizations and individuals were recognized for their efforts to improve the health of the region. The virtual ceremony is available for viewing online.

Beasley is currently serving as interim dean of the College of Health Sciences. She recently transitioned as associate dean of the McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing. Dr. Beasley is also the Belk Endowed Professor for Rural and Minority Health.

The founding member of the Department of Nursing, Beasley was recently named a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
