UNC Pembroke recently announced the 43rd annual Juried High School Art Exhibition winners.
The show offers artistically accomplished high school students a professionally organized gallery exhibition. The exhibition celebrates and rewards student talent and recognizes art teachers' encouragement and practical teaching skills.
Lisbeth Santos, a student at Purnell Swett High, won first place for her work titled Dark Bloom. Cesar Medina of Triton High took home second place for Where I'm At and Genesis Garcia Aguilar of Lumberton High placed third for Endless Memories.
The participating schools and students were:
Lumberton High School: Shaila "Lucious" Davis, Jaylyn Hunt-Williamson, Hannah Jackson, Sumara Jackson, Angelina Jones, Lucy Adeyla Juarez-Lorenzo, Karen Ortiz Vasquez and Alondra Pacheco.

Pinecrest High School: Norah Beamguard, Owen Bunker, Noah Farrell, Lucy Hanson, Hartley Parks, Alyson Stites, Lucy Thompson and Kendall Williamson.

Massey Hill Classical High School: Hannah Adams, Victoria Brijnath, Adam Courter, Jayla Dumas, Mikayla Fonseca, Olivia Goldstein, Madeline Handforth, Nelah McLean and Lacie Norton.
