UNC Pembroke faculty were honored for their dedication to the university at a Faculty Appreciation Banquet last week.
The ceremony and dinner were held at the University Center Annex on May 5.
Chancellor Robin Gary Cummings said among the many highlights of his role are the opportunities to talk to students, where he often hears of the impact a faculty member has had on their lives.
"UNC Pembroke's mission is changing lives through education," Cummings said. "That change happens because of you. When we all look back on our lives, I think we will want to see our life as one of impact and influence.
"You are the heartbeat of this institution," he said. "Thank you for the difference you make at UNC Pembroke and in the lives of our students and graduates, their families and their communities across southeastern North Carolina and around the world."
