UNC Pembroke has scheduled several FAFSA on Wheels events across the county in a continued effort to make resources accessible to the community, including the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). 

The university’s mobile unit will be parked from noon to 3 p.m. each day at the following locations:

• Roses Discount Store, 702 East Fourth Avenue, Red Springs, N.C., on Monday, Jan. 22.
• Food Lion, 500 N. Walnut St., Fairmont, N.C., on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
• Food Lion, 638 N. Patterson St., Maxton, N.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
• Piggly Wiggly, 326 S. 5^th St., St. Pauls, N.C., on Thursday, Jan. 25.
• Downtown Plaza, 111 E. 3^rd St., Lumberton, N.C., on Friday, Jan 26.

Each event is open to the public. Financial aid staff will assist individuals with the FAFSA. Participants are asked to bring a copy of their 2022 tax transcript or 1040 tax returns. Students under 24 must bring a parent and their tax information. Please consider creating your FSA ID at www.studentaid.gov before the event. Also note the U.S. Department of Education released a soft launch of the 2024/25 FAFSA through February 1, with periodic outages for maintenance that may impact the ability to complete the FAFSA.
