Despite cold, rainy weather, the 2018 winter commencement ceremony was upbeat and exciting, as approximately 400 students received their undergraduate degrees. The ceremony was held on Saturday, December 15th, in the English E. Jones Center, which was packed with family, friends and other well wishers of the graduating class.
Margaret Spellings, President of the UNC System, delivered the commencement address, and Chancellor Robin G. Cummings delivered congratulatory remarks and conferred degrees. Among the graduating class were dozens of Biology students, many of whom wore colorful cords to acknowledge academic honors. A reception complete with refreshments was held in the University Center Annex immediately following the ceremony.
The Department of Biology congratulates the Class of '18 and wishes them the very best in all their future endeavors!
