Junior Braves

Dates: June 16 – 20 or June 23 – 27, 2025

Grades: Rising 1st - 5th graders

UNC Pembroke offers rising 1st - 5th graders the opportunity to join the Junior Braves program for a week of fun, creativity and problem solving. The Junior Braves program is designed to motivate and inspire young learners to explore and excel at challenging STEM activities. Junior Braves will engage campers in a variety of academic and technological skills. Enrichment workshops are designed to foster development of independent learning strategies as well as offer new experiences, discoveries, challenges, and excitement...all while enjoying the beautiful campus of UNC Pembroke! Lunch is included.

Cummings Aerospace Camp

Dates: June 16 – 20, 2025: 3D Printing & Rocketry (Week 1)

Dates: June 23 – 27, 2025: Coding & Robotics (Week 2)

Grades: Rising 5th – 12th

Week 1: Participants explore rocketry through 3D design and printing. A weeklong experience combing the challenges of 3D design and rocketry with a focus on hands on learning, building, and launching rockets…for an out of the world adventure! Lunch is included. 

3D Design:

  • Beginning students will learn the fundamentals of 3D design and how to use a 3D printer by completing multiple 3D printed projects.
  • Advanced students will learn how complex shapes and fitment types, like screws and clasps, through designing and printing a multi-step project.

Rocketry:

  • Beginning students will build and fly a rocket to explore the fundamentals of flight sciences. 
  • Advanced students will learn to use rocket modeling SW and about the factors that drive rocket performance and implement them in their rocket design.

Week 2: Participate in a robotics mission through coding. The focus will be on designing, building and programming robots…the finale will be a robotics competition! Lunch is included. 

Python Coding:

  • Beginning students will learn the importance and benefits of learning to write software and the basic Python coding functionality through the development of simple programs.
  • Advanced students will develop and practice in depth skills in Python through development of more complex programs. 

Machine Learning and Video Game Design - NEW!

  • High school students will learn basic machine learning skills using a software tool called Google Teachable Machine. Then students will design a video game in Scratch, integrating their machine learning model for the video game player to interface with. At the end of the camp week, the students will share their games with other campers. 

Robotics:

  • Beginning students will learn how to successfully assemble robots and then program them to complete specific behaviors using block code.
  • Advanced students will program their robots first using block code and then transition their code to Python.

All Sports Camp

Dates: July 7 – 11 or July 14 – 18, 2025

Grades: Rising 1st – 5th

UNC Pembroke All-Sports Camp provides planned activities to give kids exposure to a variety of sports and recreational activities. The summer camp is designed to provide group instruction in a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, kickball, tennis, swimming, and flag football. The camp is staffed by UNCP student athletes and experienced counselors, and the focus is on fun. This multi-sport camp will provide a safe and fun environment for kids to play sports they already enjoy as well as try new activities…all while enjoying the beautiful campus of UNC Pembroke! Lunch is included. 

Fee per week: $150

Pembroke to Broadway Singing Camp

Dates: July 21-25, 2025

Grades: Rising 7th - 12th

This 5-day camp for 7th - 12th graders gives young performers a chance to learn and perform songs, duets and group numbers from popular music theater shows. Each day, student campers will learn basics of reading music, choreographed dance numbers, harmony and vocal technique from an experienced teacher. Camp will include games, lunch and enjoying the energy of a music theater community!

Fee per week: $150

REC-IT

Dates: June 9 - 13, 2025

Grades: Rising 5th - 8th

REC-IT Summer Camp is an engaging and dynamic experience for 5th - 8th graders, designed to foster teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Through interactive activities, campers will explore wellness, career opportunities, and community involvement while building confidence and meaningful connections. With a focus on recreation and fun, REC-IT empowers youth to develop essential life skills in a supportive and active environment. 

Limited to 30 students.
