UPDATED: 1/21/25 at 9:45 a.m. UNCP officials met this morning to assess conditions and updates from the National Weather Service and have determined the university will operate on a normal schedule through 5:15 p.m. today and then transition to a Condition 1—Reduced Operations status through noon, Wednesday, Jan. 22. All classes after 5 p.m. today through noon, Wednesday, Jan. 22, are canceled. For updates, visit uncp.edu/weather. Students, faculty and staff please check your campus email.

  • In which tournaments will UNCP Esports Compete?

UNCP Esports will participate NACE Starleague Competition, and Conference Carolina Esports Championships.

  • When is the collegiate esports season?

The collegiate esports season begins in September and January each year. Matches will be scheduled in advance and the full schedule.

  • What are the academic requirements?

Players must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be enrolled as a full time student, and be making progress toward graduation in order maintain team member status.

  • Will I need to bring my own computer?

UNCP Esports will provide all team members access to our state-of-the-art training facility, fully equipped with high end gaming computers. Students should supply their own peripherals.

  • Will the team ever travel for tournaments?

Based on regular season performance, teams will have the opportunity to travel to compete in post season play with high placements providing travel opportunities.
