Performance Management

As a supervisor, you are responsible for talent acquisition, talent management, and talent development, all of which can be quite daunting. In this session, the Office for Human Resources will briefly review how to navigate the technical aspects of performance management within the Online Employment System (OES) and discuss how to effectively utilize the module to create an employee development plan that addresses your business need, as well as how to define and assess your employees’ development needs. Dr. Nicolette Campos will highlight critical strategies to prepare for and conduct development meetings that include creating effective development plans and highlighting support resources for your employees. Preventing, Recognizing, and Addressing Employee Stress and Burnout

An extension of Work/Life Balance, this session will assist supervisors and employees with proactive strategies to prevent employee burnout, recognizing the signs of employee burnout, and strategies to eliminate employee burnout.  Presenters: Jaelyn Wynn, Assistant Director of Health Promotion and Amy Cox, Assistant Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
 

Succession Planning and Supporting Professional Development

Free QUESTION, PERSUADE, REFER (QPR) TRAINING. QPR is designed to help you recognize someone who may be considering suicide and consist of three life-saving skills.  Learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer help, and how to get help and save a life. All participants will receive a QPR Certificate (3-year certification) after the session.  Participants only need to attend one session.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Course is a video-based, Instructor-led course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.  BLS teaches skills using the American Heart Association’s proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows Instructors to observe students, provide feedback, and guide students’ acquisition of skills.
Note: Training classes are free, limited to eight students per class, and are offered on a first come first serve basis for faculty and staff only. 

Course completion cards are valid for two years through the end of the month during which the course completion card was issued, if your course completion card is expired you would need to renew your certification to remain current.
