The Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity (OSID) strives to create a robust and inclusive campus environment that provides a transformative intercultural experience. Consequently, OSID provides educational programming that promotes: increased awareness of self and others; an understanding of and knowledge about diverse cultures, identities, and communities; and, strategies and techniques for taking action to communicate and work with diverse groups, identify and openly discuss cultural differences and issues, challenge biases and discrimination and facilitate the development of a culture that is inclusive. As a result, students will be better prepared to engage in and contribute to a diverse and interdependent global society.

Accessibility Education empowers participants to be more knowledgeable about the experiences of the disabled and neurodiverse community. The program offers participants a functional knowledge of terminology and identities that fall under the disability umbrella, understanding of experiences, challenges and strengths within the community, and ways to serve the disabled community as an active ally and advocate.
Safe Zone Education empowers participants to be more knowledgeable about issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, pansexual, and other individuals (LGBTQIA+). The training also provides participants with a functional knowledge of terminology, the gender and sexuality paradigms, and ways to support the LGBTQIA+ community as an active ally and advocate.
Implicit Bias Education empowers participants to be more knowledgeable about subtle biases that influence our thoughts and actions, often without conscious awareness. This program offers participants an opportunity to explore how unconscious biases shape our perceptions and actions, discuss microaggressions and how they impact diverse communities, and explore tools and resources for serving as an ally and multicultural educator.
UNCP Green Zone training is for students, faculty, and staff who wish to learn more about the military-affiliated student experience. The goals are to train members of Brave Nation to know more about the issues and concerns faced by military-affiliated students and to identify individuals who are available to assist this population. Upon completion, participants will be able to lend a sympathetic ear and help student-veterans identify and connect with the appropriate resources.
