Geo-Environmental Studies

The B.S. in Geo-Environmental Studies is a flexible, interdisciplinary program that allows students to meet their needs in earth-centered studies.  Students can choose to concentrate on geology or geography or a mix. The degree has two tracks to choose from, a geoscience track and a geography track.

  • The geoscience track provides a base from multiple sciences that is important in understanding the Earth in an environmental context.
  • The geography track provides a context  to understand the relationships between humans and the world around us.

In addition, students following the geoscience track can also seek the dual degree program where they complete 3 years of focused course work at UNCP and two years at NCSU to earn both a Geo-Environmental Studies degree from UNCP and either an Environmental or Civil Engineering degree from NCSU.
