The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s MSOT Program believes in recruiting a diverse student population who, upon graduation, will be equipped to meet the health needs of the surrounding community and contribute as leaders in the profession. Admissions Cycle
Applicants for the Fall 2025 Start date: Admissions cycle opens October 1, 2024 on OTCAS and closes on February 15, 2025.

Observation hours
Observation hours may be fulfilled by documented observation face to face in variety of settings to shadow an occupational therapy practitioner (20 hours) (optional) or completion of the learning activity on OTCAS watching videos and responding to the questions related to the videos (required).
Completion of the observation requirement by watching the videos included in the "Questions" portion of the UNCP-specific OTCAS application and responding to the questions listed. You will also sign an attestation that you viewed the video links and completed the responses to the questions.
Letters of Recommendation
Personal Essay
No essay is required however, a personal statement on the OTCAS is required.
Personal Resume
A personal resume is required to be uploaded on the OTCAS portal.
Application Submission
Please submit all application materials on OTCAS, otcas.liaisoncas.com. Your OTCAS application must be submitted by the deadline for that application cycle. OTCAS will take two to four weeks to verify the submitted application. The UNCP MSOT program will not review an application until it is in a verified status.
- Complete the Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service (OTCAS) Application
- Submit the web-based graduate application and fee through UNCP Graduate School
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended documenting successful completion of all prerequisite coursework is required to be uploaded on the OTCAS System.
- A current resume listing relevant experience.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from the most recent degree transcript is uploaded to the OTCAS system.
- Completion of the observation requirement by watching the videos included in the "Questions" portion of the UNCP-specific OTCAS application and responding to the questions listed. You will also sign an attestation that you viewed the video links and completed the responses to the questions.
NOTE
A criminal history background check is required for all students in the MSOT program and will be conducted in the first semester. A positive background check may prohibit the student from progressing in the program and from becoming licensed to work in the field. Criminal background checks may be conducted annually or at the discretion of fieldwork affiliates.
