About
Chris Colón holds a Bachelor’s in music from Fayetteville State University and a Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Both degrees are in music education with a concentration in piano. Chris has experience playing in various musicals in conjunction with the Cape Fear Regional Theater, Studio One, and the UNC Pembroke Music Theater Department. During the years 2012-2016, Chris Colón served as a music professor at Sandhills Community College where he taught private piano, class piano, fundamentals of music, ear training (music theory lab), and served as the accompanist for the College Choir and student performers. Chris has been involved in music ministry for the last 26 years where he directed different adult, children, and youth choirs, adult and children’s handbells, string ensembles, wind ensembles, and various other groups. He currently teaches piano at St. Ann Catholic School and has recently accepted the position of Parish Organist at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. In his free time, Chris likes to compose and improvise music. Chris loves to travel abroad and for this reason has started learning different languages on Duolingo.
