Dana Hunt-Locklear, a 2018 graduate from Purnell Swett High School, is currently the Student Body President for the 2021-2022 academic year. Born and raised in Pembroke and an enrolled member of the Lumbee tribe, Dana is a fourth-generation Brave who majors in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking and is completing a minor in History. After graduation, she plans on obtaining her master's degree in video game design.
Prior to her election as Student Body President, Dana served as the University and Community Relations committee chair as well as Student Body Vice President during their tenure in SGA. Alongside her involvement in SGA and on campus, she is also a fellow in the Mellon R.E.A.C.H Program here at UNCP and sits on the University's Inclusion and Diversity council.
Dana is honored to represent the student body and hopes to encourage others to be a catalyst for the positive change they wish to see within the University community.
