About
Jason joined the Mass Communication Department faculty in Fall 2009, teaching courses in broadcasting, photojournalism, writing for media, video production, visual effects, and mass communication. He served a four-year term as department chair, 2012 - 2016. Currently he teaches part-time, online.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of video/multimedia production and has worked in broadcast, higher education, freelance, and corporate communications environments. Prior to joining UNCP, he was a manager of internal communications for Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, where he oversaw media productions for product brands including Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and The Capital Grille, among others.
His creative pursuits include documentary film production, educational media, digital/fine art and photography, and graphic novels. His research interests include studying social media's impact on culture and education.
