Kateryna Forynna has been leading UNCP's English Language Institute since 2016. Having learned several foreign languages over the course of her life, she is passionate about helping international students acquire the necessary language skills, cultural competency and confidence to succeed academically and in their careers. Kateryna holds Master’s degrees in Applied Linguistics and World Languages, Literatures and Linguistics. She has  developed and taught a variety of ESL courses in intensive English programs in the U.S., China, and Ukraine. Because of her positive experience as a Global Undergraduate Exchange Program fellow, Kateryna introduced this U.S. Department of State program to UNCP campus in 2018. In her free time, Kateryna enjoys playing the piano, traveling, and spending time with her family.
