Kelvin Jacobs joined the Office of the General Counsel's staff in January 2015 as the assistant general counsel. Formerly with Legal Aid of North Carolina, Mr. Jacobs earned his doctor of jurisprudence from North Carolina Central University. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a captain. 

Mr. Jacobs provides legal advice to academic and administrative offices across campus; reviews, drafts, and negotiates university contracts; and drafts legal documents and memoranda of law. He also assists with matters of compliance with state and federal law; drafts, reviews, and revises university policies and conducts trainings on those polices; and he oversees grievance proceedings.
