2024-2025 Student Body President

Magally Ortiz- Rojas is the 2024-2025 Student Body President at UNC Pembroke. She is a Robeson County native from Lumberton NC. Magally is majoring in Political Science and Sociology. She is a first-generation college student. After graduation, she plans on taking a gap year before applying for law school.

While in Student Government Association (SGA), Magally served as a freshman senator before serving as University and Community Relations chair during her sophomore year and Vice President during her junior year. Outside of SGA, Magally has been heavily involved with the office for Community and Civic Engagement where she served as the student manager of the CARE Resource Center during her sophomore year and Student Engagement Intern during her junior year. She recently crossed for the Omicron Lambda chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. She also founded the Latin Student Union.

Alongside Vice President Teresa Fernandez, Magally hopes to push their Building Bridges Campaign which aims to connect students with resources to succeed in their UNCP experience and to become well-rounded students. Also, empowering students to become the leaders of tomorrow and setting the foundation for future students to build on.
