About

Dr. Youngsuk Chae is Professor of English at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke. She came to the UNCP in 2007. Since then, she has been teaching Asian American literature, world literature, and post-colonial literature. Dr. Chae is the author of Politicizing Asian American Literature: Towards a Critical Multiculturalism (Routledge, 2008) and a co-editor of Asian American Literature and the Environment (Routledge, 2015). Her academic publications have appeared in the Journal of Postcolonial Writing, Journal of Asian American StudiesModern Fiction Studies, and Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction. Her research focuses on contemporary Asian American literature, ecocriticism, and postcolonial studies.
