We were very fortunate to have Dr. John Gardner and his wife, Dr. Barefoot on campus Monday, September 23 and Tuesday, September 24. Together, they provided an overview of their philosophy as it relates to student success as well as setting a strong foundation for this partnership as they have vast experience in student success, retention/persistence, and higher education.
The first visit consisted of a series of focus groups - with faculty, staff, and students - to gather insights and perceptions about how we can best serve our students – and enhance the overall student experience. There was also two "town hall" meetings, which were open to all members of the UNC Pembroke community.
