Undergraduate Ceremony

UPDATED March 24, 2025

The undergraduate commencement exercises will be held on Saturday May 10th at the Quad between Livermore Library and Old Main. The processional will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. Each graduate will receive eight (8) guest tickets.

Entrances to the venue open at 7:30 a.m. All guests should be seated no later than 8:30 a.m.

Please see the campus map for parking lot locations. Accessible parking is available in Lot 14.

The UNCP Bookstore will sell roses, balloons, alumni gifts, and apparel before the ceremony begins.

Photographs of each graduate will be taken during the ceremony and available for purchase at a later date. Information will be sent to the graduates after commencement.

Overflow seating with a livestream of the ceremony will be made available in the Givens Performing Arts Center.

Schedule of Events

7:30 a.m.

Graduates check-in at the locations below.

Entrances open for family and guests.

 

 

7:45 a.m.

The platform party will robe and line up in the Chancellor's Dining Room.

Faculty and administrators will assemble in front of the D. F. Lowry Building to honor the graduates as they process across the bridge and join the processional.

   
8:30 a.m. Entrances close and guests should be seated.
   
8:45 a.m. Processional of graduates, faculty, and platform party begins.
 

 

 

A reception will be held near the water feature following the ceremony.

 

Undergraduate Check-in Locations

Graduates will meet at their assigned check-in locations at 7:30 a.m. according to the table below. Detailed information about the check-in process will be sent to each graduate. 

An information tent will be set up at the front of the North Lawn on the day of graduation.
