On Stage for Youth

Hearts for the Arts

Live arts experiences are fundamental for youth development. Research shows that young people learn from live performances in ways that they do not from watching movies or even reading books. GPAC works directly with organizations to make tickets available low to no cost.

Interested organizations are encouraged to contact GPAC. Requests are honored on a first-come, first-served basis while funds are available. Qualifying organizations include K-12 schools, non-profits, and community groups with a focus on children and young people.

Individuals and businesses can make donations of any size. Funds are used to subsidize tickets for access to select GPAC performances.  To donate online visit www.uncp.edu/heartsforart, or send checks to GPAC Hearts For the Arts, Givens Performing Arts Center, P.O. Box 1510, Pembroke, N.C. 28372 or call 910.521.6361.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, the beloved TV classic, comes to life on stage with all of your favorite characters.

Based on the animated television special of the same name, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer teaches a very simple lesson: what makes us different, makes us special!

The show is complete with all of the characters audiences old and young have come to remember, including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble The Abominable Snow Monster, Yukon Cornelius, and of course, Rudolph.

The Chicago Daily Herald Review called Rudolph “a gleeful musical take on a holiday favorite,” and the Orlando Sentinel Review called it an “utterly charming, top-notch production.”
