Handshake is an interactive database that allows organizations to connect with UNCP students and alumni.

On Handshake employers are able to:

• Post part and full-time positions, internships, and co-ops.
• All employment opportunities are reviewed by a Career Center staff member
• Request information sessions
• Request on-campus interviews
• Register for career events
• Review resumes
• Market company-sponsored events

	Get Registered. Using Handshake is free and easy! To register for an employer account, get started by visiting Handshake and following the steps in this quick-start video.
	Connect with UNCP. After creating an account, choose to connect with the University of North Carolina Pembroke (UNCP) as one of your schools of interest. Learn more about school network management here.
	Reach Out. As soon as you request access to UNCP through the platform, please send UNCP’s Handshake administrator, Reggie Bullock (reginald.bullock@uncp.edu) a quick email so that we can go in and quickly approve your account.
	Post Jobs and Internships. After your account is approved, you will be able to post a job or internship in Handshake. Learn more about posting opportunities and recommended practices here.
	As an employer, you also have access to a personal student account as well to understand what students see on their side! To access this tool, click on your name in the top right corner, click switch profiles. Then, you are able to access the student side of Handshake. Vice versa to get to your employer account.

We host multiple career fairs throughout the year to put you in touch with several potential candidates. To view dates and register for upcoming Career Fairs, log into Handshake. We are happy to provide additional accommodations, such as reserving space for post-event interviews.

Virtual, Hybrid, and Face to Face options are available to build your brand on campus. Employers are encouraged to take a multi-tiered approach to recruit at UNCP. Employer partners who participate in a variety of activities to build name recognition and a campus presence tend to attract a larger candidate pool and see greater success.

Apply for the Rural Internship Initiative Golden LEAF Scholarship! 

The Rural Internship Initiative provides eligible Golden LEAF Scholars with professional work experience related to their career field in a rural North Carolina community.

Internships are offered on a competitive basis. The Golden LEAF Foundation provides funding to pay interns $16-18/hour for their work. The internship takes place over a period of at least eight weeks, between May and August.
