Career Ambassador Program Overview
About Us: The Career Ambassador Program is a peer education and outreach program that enlists students to support the UNCP Career Center’s efforts to increase student awareness and engagement in programs, resources, and services. As the Programming Chair, you will play a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and executing engaging and impactful programs and events for our members or campus community. Ambassadors have the opportunity to engage in Peer Career Advising, Event & Presentation Coordination, Student Engagement, Marketing and Networking.
This is a PAID opportunity for UNCP students with 6 positions available each Academic year!

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be a full-time student in good academic standing.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
- Must commit to working at least one full semester
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for program events and activities.
- No requirement of being a NC Resident or US Citizen.

Captain
Job Overview: The Captain is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to the team members to ensure collaboration, cohesion, and effectiveness in achieving team goals. You will serve as a role model, mentor, and motivator, guiding ambassadors to perform at their best and overcome challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of your role.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members, helping them develop their skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
- Collaborate with team members to set clear goals, objectives, and expectations, aligning them with the organization's mission and vision.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring everyone has a voice and feels valued and respected.
- Monitor team performance and progress towards goals, providing feedback, coaching, and support as needed to address areas for improvement.
- Address conflicts, challenges, and obstacles proactively, seeking solutions and promoting a constructive and supportive work environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities to support continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Pay: $18 per hour

Programming Chair
Job Overview: The Programming Chair is responsible for curating and coordinating a diverse range of programs, activities, and events that align with the organization's mission and objectives. You will work closely with Career Center staff and fellow ambassadors to develop and implement creative and high-quality programming that meets the needs and interests of our target audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the Career Center and career ambassador programming calendars, including a variety of events, workshops, and activities to engage the UNCP community.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the UNCP community.
- Research and identify relevant speakers, presenters, and subject matter experts to participate in program events and activities.
- Coordinate logistics for program events, including venue selection, event promotion, catering, audiovisual setup, and attendee registration.
- Create program outlines and collaborate with the marketing chair to create promotional content.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and attendee feedback to continuously improve and enhance future programming efforts.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging topics to ensure programming remains relevant and impactful.
Pay: $16.50 per hour

Marketing Chair
Job Overview: The Marketing Chair is responsible for leading the organization's marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility, garner interest, and engage existing stakeholders across UNCP’s campus. You will oversee the development and implementation of marketing strategies across various channels, including digital platforms, social media, email campaigns, and traditional marketing channels.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the organization's digital presence, including website content, social media accounts, and email newsletters.
- Create engaging and compelling content, including graphics, videos, blog posts, and promotional materials, to communicate key messages, promote programs, and attract target audiences.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including program managers, event organizers, and leadership team, to align marketing efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
- Analyze marketing metrics and performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize future strategies.
- Cultivate relationships with student organizations, campus influencers, and strategic partners to expand reach and visibility of the Career Center.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to innovate and improve marketing strategies.
- Represent the organization at events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Pay: $16.50 per hour

Generalist
Job Overview: Career Ambassadors serve as student leaders and assist in organizing and facilitating career related workshops, events, and activities. Career Ambassadors will promote internships and other experiential learning opportunities to the campus community and provide guidance and support in enhancing students’ professional skills and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of workshops, seminars, and networking events.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to peers, offering support in setting and achieving their career goals.
- Assist in recruiting participants for the Career Ambassador Program through outreach efforts and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with Career Center staff and campus partners to ensure the success of program initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, progress, and feedback.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and resources to enhance program offerings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the program through feedback, evaluation, and innovative ideas.
Pay: $16.50 per hour
