Conduct Hearing Board

The Conduct Hearing Board (CHB) is a group composed of faculty, staff, and students who have been recommended and appointed by the Chancellor. The CHB plays a crucial role in upholding the university's standards of conduct by ensuring a fair and impartial review process for cases involving alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct.

The CHB becomes involved in a case when it is referred by the Director of Student Conduct or their designee. The Director or their designee also serves as the advisor to the CHB, providing guidance on procedures and ensuring compliance with university policies.

All members of the CHB are thoroughly trained and competent in university policies, due process, and best practices in student conduct. They are equipped to handle cases with sensitivity, fairness, and professionalism. The CHB's primary goal is to review charges, assess evidence, and determine whether a violation has occurred, while promoting a fair and educational process that supports the personal and ethical development of students.

CONDUCT HEARING BOARD APPLICATIONS

Join the Conduct Hearing Board (CHB) and play a vital role in upholding the university’s standards of integrity and fairness. We are looking for dedicated students, faculty, and staff to serve on the CHB.

Students may be recommended for the Conduct Hearing Board by faculty or staff members, the Student Government Association, or they may apply by completing the application. All applications are reviewed by the Office of Student Conduct and all final appointments are made by the Chancellor.
