Gordon first joined UNC Pembroke in 2013. Currently, he is the office manager for the general counsel, and reviews all policies that will be adopted by the university and posted on the general counsel's website. Gordon also works with property matters, insurance, tort claims, and other such situations.

Before coming to Pembroke, Gordon served on active duty in the 82 Airborne Division. After serving honorably in the US Army, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UNCP in 2012, a Master in Arts from UNCP in 2016, and is now pursuing his doctorate in writing, rhetoric, and professional communication at ECU. In addition to his duties at in the OGC, Gordon has served on the Staff Council, Conduct Hearing Board, SHRA Grievance Committee, Employee Emergency Relief Fund, the Coordinated Community Response Team, and the Braves KickOff Committee (2021). Additionally, Gordon is a contributing editor for Carolina Country magazine.
