Cisco Unity Voicemail Instructions

Cisco Unity brings together traditional phone functionality with that of Outlook.  You can listen to your voicemail messages, your calendar appointments, or your email messages.  Commands are touchtone activated.

 

Initial Setup 

Cisco Unity Voicemail is enabled as soon as you are assigned a phone number.

  1. On your UNCP campus phone, press the voicemail speed dial button or dial 4773.
  2. Enter your first-time PIN followed by #.  You will be required to change the PIN, which has to be at least 6 digits.  You will also hear a welcome message and be prompted to record your name and a greeting.

 

Access Voicemail from On-Campus:  Touchtone Commands
  1. From your phone, dial the Cisco Unity voicemail number 4773, or press the voicemail speed dial button.
  2. Enter your PIN followed by #.
  3.  Press *.
  4.  You will be prompted with the number to press to access the desired option.  They include the following:
    • Voicemail (2)
    • Send a message (3)
    • Review old messages (4)
    • Setup options (6)
    • List meetings (7) 

 

Access Voicemail Options Off-Campus:  Dialing Your Telephone Number
  1. Dial your office telephone number [910-xxx-xxxx].
  2. When your greeting begins to play, press *.
  3. When asked for ID, enter your 4 digit extension followed by #.
  4. Then enter your PIN, followed by #. 
  5. You will be prompted with the commands for the desired option.  Use the touchtone commands.  They include:
    • Voicemail (2)
    • Send a message (3)
    • Review old messages (4)
    • Setup options (6)
    • List meetings (7)

 

Changing Your Greeting

To change your greeting, you will need to access the Setup Options. These options include changing your greeting(s) and your PIN. The following instructions assume you will be using voice commands; however, you can access personal options to change your greeting using touchtone commands as well.

  1. From your phone, dial the Cisco Unity voicemail number 4773, or press the voicemail speed dial button.
  2. Enter your PIN followed by #.
  3. Press 6 for Setup Options.
  4. Follow the prompts to change your greeting.

 

Changing Your PIN

To change your PIN when you don't know your current PIN, use the information below. This must be done on campus or using  VPN. For Cisco Unified Messaging shared voicemail, contact the Help Desk for assistance in changing the PIN.
