UPDATED: 1/21/25 at 9:45 a.m. UNCP officials met this morning to assess conditions and updates from the National Weather Service and have determined the university will operate on a normal schedule through 5:15 p.m. today and then transition to a Condition 1—Reduced Operations status through noon, Wednesday, Jan. 22. Qualtrics

What is Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is a web-based research suite; that is, Qualtrics is an online survey and polling software package that contains a variety of question types and formatting; offers survey logic and customizable deployment capabilities (including reminder emails); and has a powerful reporting engine. Settings include the ability to make surveys anonymous as well to prevent a respondent from taking a survey multiple times. Surveys and data can be accessed from anywhere there is internet availability; data can also be exported to SPSS or Excel. Reports can be created with statistics, tables, and graphs and exported to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or PDF format.

Who can use Qualtrics?

Qualtrics is available to all UNCP faculty and staff as well as students in a class or research setting when supervised by faculty or staff Our campus license allows for unlimited use of Qualtrics for legitimate UNCP-related research and educational activities.

How do I get started using Qualtrics?

Prior to conducting any research or survey distribution, you need to ensure that you have meet the critiera for Institutional Review Board approval. Some educational activities that utilize surveys and polling are exempt from IRB review; however, all research conducted at UNCP or by UNCP faculty, staff and/or students at any location (including research conducted as part of classroom exercises or course requirements) must undergo an IRB review and have a protocol application on file with the IRB Chair. If in doubt about whether your project needs to be reviewed, contact an IRB committee member to ask.
