INSTRUCTIONS:

All applicants must complete the required questions on the application. It is a Google form which can be accessed here. Please complete electronically and submit. RISE is a rigorous program geared toward preparing students to become competitive candidates for Ph.D programs in biomedical and behavioral science research. Before applying please review the website for program information, expectations, and details. RISE website www.uncp.edu/rise.

TIPS FOR APPLICANTS:

• Be honest and thorough when answering the short answer questions. We are interested in knowing who you are and why you are interested in research and RISE. We want to hear about your future academic and career goals. Research experience is not mandatory. A demonstrated interest in research and aspirations to pursue a graduate degree in STEM research is what we look for in RISE candidates. 
   
• Notify your references that you are listing them. After submitting your application your references will be sent a brief survey to complete on your behalf.
   
• Take the time to learn about RISE and ask questions of RISE Fellows or staff to help you better understand the program.
