While all nursing courses in the RN-BSN Program are available online, some pre-requisite courses may not be offered online through UNC-Pembroke. Students may utilize various options to take online courses elsewhere and transfer the courses to UNC-Pembroke.
UNC Online
Students may utilize UNC Online to find equivalent coursework at another UNC-institution that is being offered online. For example, if chemistry is not offered online at UNC-Pembroke, it may be offered online at Fayetteville State University. The UNC Online system provides an easy to use search to find the course and register for it. With UNC Online, tuition for the course is typically added to your UNC-Pembroke bill and billed appropriately (except for courses through UNC-Chapel Hill which are billed directly through them). You may access UNC Online by clicking here. Please utilize the Transfer Equivalency Tool to verify if the course will transfer to UNC-Pembroke.
NC Community Colleges
Students may take online courses at a North Carolina Community College. You may use the VLC Search Tool to locate online sections of courses offered throughout the state. Students are responsible for applying, registering, and paying for the courses taken at a community college. If enrolled at UNC-Pembroke, students must fill out and submit the "Request to Take a Course as a Visitor at Another University" form located on the Registrar's website. Please utilize the Transfer Equivalency Tool to verify if the course will transfer to UNC-Pembroke. Students are responsible for ensuring a final transcript from the community college is sent to UNC-Pembroke.
