UNCP will resume normal campus operations beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Classes, both in-person and online, will operate on a regular schedule. As weather-related impacts may continue in some areas, members of the campus community are encouraged to use their best judgment when preparing to return to campus and to follow the guidance below if safe travel is not possible.

For Students

Students who anticipate weather conditions will prevent them from attending class should contact their course instructor(s) as soon as possible. All course policies remain in effect; students should consult their course syllabi for guidance related to attendance and continue to monitor their student email and Canvas sites for any updates from instructors.

For Employees

The university will remain in Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) until 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Normal operating conditions will resume at that time. Employees who need to alter their work schedules due to weather-related circumstances should contact their supervisor as soon as possible to share information and discuss available options.

Safety Reminder

As conditions may vary across the region, faculty, staff and students are encouraged to monitor road conditions and make decisions that prioritize personal safety. Whether travel is work-related or personal, please use caution and exercise your best judgment.

At this time, no additional campus-wide messages are planned regarding this weather event. Should conditions warrant a change, however, updates will be sent via email and posted to  UNCP.edu, the Brave Alert page and the university’s official social media channels. In the event of university-level closings or cancellations, Brave Alert text notifications will be deployed.

Thank you to our students, faculty and staff for your cooperation and flexibility during this period of inclement weather. We also appreciate the many teams who worked behind the scenes to care for residential students and who helped prepare the campus for a safe return.
