Welcome to the Hawks Nest — your go-to spot on campus to relax, refuel and have a blast. Grab your crew, order some Chick-fil-A and take your pick: bowling, pool, air hockey, ping pong, video games and more. Just want to chill? Kick back and catch the latest games on our big-screen TVs. UNCP students, faculty and staff get priority for equipment, but guests are always welcome to join the fun.

Our Fun-Filled Hours

Normal Hours:
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.-11 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 3-11 p.m.

Summer Hours
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Hours may change during adverse weather conditions, university-recognized holidays or in accordance with events listed on UNCP’s academic calendar.

Plan Ahead

You can reserve the Hawks Nest ahead of time for group activities and events. Contact the Recreation Center Manager at 910.521.6609 to inquire about rates, availability or group reservation options. Children 12 years old and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The VIP Bowling Experience

Skip the wait, and start your VIP experience. Download the OpenLane app to schedule your VIP bowling session before you arrive. You can use our bowling equipment, rent our shoes or bring your own. Have a question? Call the Hawks Nest Manager at 910.521.6544.

Rates: Student bowling: $1.50 per lane, per game (plus $1 show rental per bowler)

Get the Crew Together

Groups must have six or more people and at least two lanes to qualify for group bowling reservations.

Campus-recognized student organizations can reserve, in advance, individual bowling lanes or the entire bowling center. Lane availability is up to four lanes and three persons per lane. 

Download the OpenLane app to request your bowling reservation, and encourage your guests to download the OpenLane app so everyone gets the VIP service experience. Contact the Hawks Nest Manager at 910.521.6544 for detailed inquiries. 

Student Group/Org Rate: $10 per lane per hour (plus $1.00 shoe rental), three games of bowling per group/lane (25% discount)

Use Ours or Bring Your Own

Billiards, ping pong, air hockey, bowling and video gaming equipment may be rented from the check-out center inside the Hawks Nest. Individuals may supply their own equipment with the purchase of a billiards table or bowling lane fee. Self-owned gaming consoles and video games may be used with Hawks Nest’s HDTVs free of charge with a valid Braves Card.
